14 days of pure rally-raid spirit, 195 staff members, 3 medical helicopters, 20 healthcare professionals, and over 30 nationalities represented: the Africa Eco Race is more than just a rally. It’s a human and sporting odyssey, culminating at the legendary Lac Rose in Dakar.
Lightweight, agile, and made for sand, the SSV (Side-by-Side Vehicle) has carved out its place in the rally world. Not only do they offer exhilarating performance, but they also come with a lower price tag than traditional race cars.
New in 2026: the SSV Series class is introduced! Designed for near-production vehicles with only basic safety upgrades, this new category makes rally-raid more accessible than ever. It’s an ideal first step for adventurers looking for a more affordable entry into the sport.

Updated Supplementary Regulations 2026
The provisional regulations have been updated for all categories except Bikes and Raid to ensure better clarity, adaptation to terrain, and improved flexibility—particularly for SSV competitors. Additional updates for Bikes and Raid will follow soon.
Support for Stéphanie Rowe
In the 2025 edition, Stéphanie Rowe became the first woman to complete the Malle Moto category, the rally’s most extreme class with zero assistance. Riding her KTM 450 EXCF solo through the desert, she managed her own repairs, navigation, and logistics. A feat of endurance and courage. After a serious recent accident, the Africa Eco Race team sends her their best wishes for a full recovery. Her resilience and spirit continue to inspire the entire rally-raid community.
